Dr. Rey Velasco is the best. We have been seeing him for about 25 years..3 kids. Still see him for my youngest.
Stay away if you have high deductible medical plan.
1) Doctor won't prescribe antibiotic on first sick visit. Doctor will send the sick patient home and asking parents to observe for 2 days. After 2 days, we called saying our 3 year old daughter is not well yet. Doctor told us to come back in and have then charge another $300+ "sick" visit. Is this absurd or not, you tell me.
I've been taking my children and now my grandson for over 20 years. What an amazing team!
We've used this practice with both our children since birth. The doctors are lovely and enthusiastic about what they do. The nurses have always been kind to us and we absolutely love the flexible schedule they offer. I work full time and can schedule check ups in the evening and on the weekend. And if my child is sick, I can always get her in to see a doctor the same day. I highly recommend them.
He is caring, a good listener and very good with kids of all ages! He is very thorough and takes the time to explain all your options.
I have seen some of the newer doctors in the practice and I am not inclined to endorse them. Had an incident with missing an infection with one Doc which caused a weekend of unnecessary suffering for my son.
I never take the time to write reviews - but could not have had a better first impression with this office. Everyone ranging from the front desk associates to the pediatrician - warm, friendly and caring is just a small sample of the characteristics this practice exuded. I'd highly recommend them to any parent(s). After the unprofessional nature of our last pediatrician, we wish we had switched sooner.
We will never come back to this practice and we will dispute the code submitted for the visit as well as the extra charges on the inhaler.
2) We have three kids and my wife have used airway inhaler treatment many times before. However, doctor told my wife she was not using it properly and insisted to have his nurse show my wife how to use it. My wife already told them she knows how to use it and doctor kept on having the nurse show it. They ended up charging us another $82 for showing us how to use the inhaler. What a joke?
In all, we were billed $315 for a sick visit which we ended up never getting a single prescription to help our daughter feel better.
